The Gambia Academy’s new campus marks a historic milestone - a space built for creativity, innovation, and nation-building
The Vision Behind The Campus
The Gambia Academy campus was designed to bring our educational philosophy to life - an environment that reflects African values, innovation, and community.
Set in the rural village of Medina Salam, the site embodies our belief that excellence in education must thrive where the majority of Africans live, not only in cities.

The campus has been designed as a space for learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Students not only study here - they perform, innovate, grow food, and engage in community initiatives.
This is more than a school; it is a living model of Africa’s future, where practical learning, culture, and creativity come together to build self-sustaining communities.
Phase 1
A New Foundation

In October 2025, we completed Phase I of construction, funded by the Zakat Foundation, marking the first stage of our permanent campus.
Phase 1 includes:

A dedicated performance space for music, drama, and cultural showcases

A screening and presentation space for performances, film, and lectures seating up to 100
-
Four dedicated classrooms, fully equipped for academic and specialist learning
This phase has allowed us to expand student capacity, deliver our specialist curriculum, and provide facilities worthy of our students’ talent and ambition.

What Comes Next
Phase II of development will build on this foundation, expanding the campus to include dedicated spaces for:

Dance, Art & Graphics Design Studios
This phase will also include the construction of teacher training facilities and community learning centres, ensuring that the Academy’s impact extends beyond its students to surrounding villages and schools.
